"I have been very interested in this meeting, given the fact that we have a plan that we will need to develop and sign, a plan that includes actions in the field of medical science and technology. Moldova is very near and dear to us. We have found very many shared interests. We have established the main coordinates to guide our future collaboration, we have established the main guidelines for action, including the people to be in touch with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova, and we have reiterated our support for the reforms started there and why not continue to work on reform and how we want to change the system there for the better. We are talking about collaboration in the field of the e-health agency that we are creating now, collaboration in the field of transplantation and medicines. There is a transplant agency in Moldova that works very well at this time and our collaboration will be like Eurotransplant, that is, to trying to harmonise the legislation in the field and co-operate on all levels of transplantation," said Pintea.
Radu thanked for the support offered by the Romanian side for the implementation of Moldova's healthcare reforms.
"We have begun implementation of reforms in the system of medicine and public health, which, I hope, will lead to the attainment of those European standards that we all want for the Republic of Moldova, speaking of which I would like to thank the minister for her support to us implementing these reforms in order to get something that will make Moldovan doctors no longer want to leave the country and have the opportunity to practice their profession in our republic. We have also discussed a plan of actions for 2018 - 2020, under which we will exchange experience and doctors, we do collaborations to implement healthcare management systems and we conduct many other projects that we have heard that the Romanian Government is ready to support, and we will take over the reform experience for our emergency system, which we want to be as effective as Romania's," said Radu.
She added that the reform of primary medicine is currently under way in Moldova, moving on to hospitals.
"The reform of primary medicine is in full swing now. I think it is a positive thing that the Moldovan doctors will have wages comparable to those in Romania and Europe following the implementation of this reform. We have a hospital reform to do. We will take over Romania's experience with that," she said.
