The government adopted on Wednesday under a memorandum the in-principle agreement for seeking a WB loan to finance the preliminary activities related to the construction of the Ploiesti - Brasov motorway.
According to a government release, the loan amounts to a maximum of 35 million euro and will be disbursed via the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, a World Bank Group member.
"The Ministry of Public Finance and the Ministry of Transport shall take the necessary steps for the preparation of the project and for seeking the necessary financial assistance and shall reach an agreement with the World Bank on the financing instrument to be used so as to allow the start of activities as soon as possible."
A Project Management Unit shall be set up within the Ministry of Transport, equipped with the necessary experience for the implementation of such a project and the enforcement of World Bank procedures.AGERPRES .
