The new orders in the processing industry rose by 13 percent in Romania in 2017 compared to 2016, with the durable goods industry having contributed the most to this result, according to data with the National Institute of Statistics (INS), published on Friday.
In the margin of the 12.9 percent increase recorded in the new orders in the processing industry, in 2017 the durable goods industry increased by 27.2 percent, the intermediate goods industry by 17.3 percent, the capital goods industry by 11 percent and the consumer goods industry by 4 percent.
According to statistical data, in December 2017, the new orders in the processing industry increased by 14.8 percent compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, as a result of the advances in the durable goods industry (+32.6 percent), the intermediate goods industry (+28.6 percent), capital goods industry (+8.8 percent) and consumer goods industry (+1.6 percent).
At the same time, in December 2017, the number of new orders in the processing industry decreased by 12.5 percent from November, due to the durable goods industry (-18.2 percent), the consumer goods industry (-14.1 percent), capital goods industry (-13.6 percent) and intermediate goods industry (-9.6 percent).
