The National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) announces that in June,as many as 73 defendants were sentenced in the cases handled by anticorruption prosecutors, through 28 final court rulings.
According to a DNA release, among the people served with final court rulings are two former ministers (Energy - Constantin Nita, Tourism - Elena Udrea), a former senator (Dan Sova), a county prefect, a former presidential adviser (Catalin Voicu), a state secretary in the Ministry of Justice, a secretary general in the Tourism Ministry, a minister's personal advisor, a national company director, a branch head in the railway company CFR, a general manager of the national company Electrica, a city mayor, two commune mayors, a head of a Gendarmerie County Inspectorate and a former tax authority ANAF (the National Agency for Fiscal Administration, e.n.) chief.
The sentences ordered by judges against the 73 defendants range from one year and 10 months with postponement of sentence to eight years' imprisonment.
