The implementation of the projects agreed upon within the Three Seas Initiative Summit will increase economic convergence and enhance cohesion at the European Union level, Deputy Prime Minister for the Implementation of Romania's Strategic Partnerships Ana Birchall stated on Tuesday.
"It is a highly important, present topic in the complex, vibrant geopolitical context that we are going through. I am referring here not only to the challenges the Western Balkans regions or the European Union's Eastern Neighbourhood are facing but also the huge cooperation potential with the states in these regions, both in the context of the 3Seas Initiative but also in view of the European and Euro-Atlantic integration," Deputy PM Ana Birchall underscored on the occasion of the Business Forum of the Three Seas Initiative unfolded in Bucharest, according to a press release sent to AGERPRES.
At the same time, Ana Birchall highlighted the fact that Romania's active involvement and constant support for the Three Seas Initiative are based on "the firm conviction that this cooperation format has the potential to bring about economic growth to the 3Seas Initiative region and neighbouring countries, through enhanced interconnectivity, not only in infrastructure, energy and the digital domain, but also among business communities."
The Deputy Prime Minister argued that in a complicated regional geopolitical context, the Three Seas Initiative can become a landmark of stability, security and economic development.
"I am confident that the Three Seas Initiative can bring many substantial economic benefits for our neighbours. Closer cooperation in concrete interconnectivity projects among our countries can serve as proof that, unlike other options, the common European and Euro-Atlantic is the only one that can ensure prosperity and durable growth, in agreement with our citizens' expectations," Ana Birchall mentioned.
