Putin's rockets and drones have killed innocent people again, National Defence Minister Ionut Mosteanu stated on Sunday, after Russia launched a new airstrike against Ukraine, underscoring that Romania firmly condemns such "criminal attacks," which reveal "the true face of Putin's regime."
"Last night, Russia launched one of the most massive airstrikes since the beginning of the war: over 800 drones and ballistic missiles against Ukraine. Among the targets - the Government building in Kyiv and residential areas. Putin's rockets and drones once again killed innocent people," Minister Mosteanu wrote on the X platform.
According to the Defence Minister, Russia wants to destroy Ukraine and intimidate Europe.
"This is the true face of Putin's regime: terror, destruction, war crimes. There is no intention of peace in this barbaric attack. The Kremlin wants to destroy Ukraine and intimidate Europe. Romania firmly condemns these criminal attacks," Ionut Mosteanu added.
Russia launched airstrikes on several Ukrainian cities Saturday night; one of the attacks caused major damage to buildings in Kyiv, killing three people, including a one-year-old child. Local media picked up information from Ukrainian armed forces, who reported a wave of hundreds of Russian drones and cruise missiles.
