Înotătorul român David Popovici, campionul olimpic en-titre, și-a asigurat un loc în finala probei masculine de 200 m liber de la Campionatele Mondiale de Acvatică - Singapore 2025, înregistrând al patrulea cel mai rapid timp în semifinalele de luni.
Popovici, care a înregistrat cel mai rapid timp în calificările preliminare (1:45.43), a câștigat a doua semifinală cu timpul de 1:45.02. Cu toate acestea, primii trei clasați din prima semifinală au înregistrat timpi mai rapizi.
Cel mai rapid calificat a fost americanul Luke Hobson (1:44.80), urmat de sud-coreeanul Sunwoo Hwang (1:44.84) și înotătorul polonez Kamil Sieradzki (1:45.00).
Finala probei de 200 m liber va avea loc marți, la ora 14:02, ora României.
Popovici deține un titlu mondial la 200 m liber masculin, câștigat în 2022 la Budapesta.
