The construction sector is declared a priority for 10 years, with taxes to decrease from 41.5pct to 21.25pct and the social security contribution for employees will be reduced by 3.75pct, Minister of Public Finance Eugen Teodorovici announced on Tuesday at Victoria Palace.
"Practically, the taxes are now reduced from 41.5pct to 21.25pct in this sector. At the same time, the social security contribution is reduced by 3.75pct for individuals who earn income from wages from construction activities," Eugen Teodorovici said.
He mentioned that through an ordinance the legal framework was created to set the minimum wage at 3.000 lei.
The Finance Minister also said that all workers in the sector remain insured for both health and pension systems, even if there are the mentioned tax cuts.
