The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) closed higher on Wednesday, with total turnover amounting to RON 102.5 million (EUR 20.1 million).
The main index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BET, which tracks the 20 most traded companies listed on the Regulated Market, rose by 1.02% to 27,708.13 points. The BET-Plus index, reflecting the performance of the 43 most liquid shares on the exchange, also closed higher, up 0.99%.
The BET-BK index, the benchmark for investment fund returns, gained 0.97%, while BET-NG, which measures the performance of the ten energy and utilities companies, advanced by 0.31%.
The extended blue-chip index BET-XT, comprising the 25 most liquid stocks, increased by 1.10%, while BET-FI, the index of financial investment companies (SIFs), closed up 1.64%.
Meanwhile, the BET AeRO index, which includes 20 representative companies listed on the AeRO market, rose by 1.22%.
The most traded shares were those of Banca Transilvania, with transactions worth RON 23.7 million, followed by Hidroelectrica with RON 11.2 million and OMV Petrom with RON 9.2 million.
The best-performing stocks were Energopetrol (+14.29%), Electroaparataj (+9.33%) and Armatura (+7.34%).
The steepest declines were recorded by STK Emergent (-7.69%), Green Tech International (-6.86%) and SSIF BRK Financial Group (-4.68%).
