Deputy Prime Minister for Implementation of Romania's Strategic Partnerships Ana Birchall on Wednesday stated that our country remains an active supporter of Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
"Romania's support for Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty within its internationally recognized border has been firm and consistent during the 10 years since the outbreak of the military conflict in August 2008, based on our countries' special relations and friendship, as well as due to the collaboration between EU and Georgia for the establishment of closer ties," Ana Birchall wrote on Facebook.
Moreover, Ana Birchall specified that Romania continues to advocate for the need to peacefully solve the conflict regarding the two separatist regions in Georgia.
"Our country will remain an active supporter of Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, as well as an advocate of the need to peacefully solve, while observing the international laws and principles, the conflict concerning the two separatist regions in Georgia, whose independence Russia recognized ten years ago and where the latter is still heavily present with troops.
