As many as 144 orphans from Ukraine and their companions boarded a charter flight in Romania bound for Turkey on Thursday morning, according to an official of Maramures International Airport (AIM).
The humanitarian flight by the HiSky airline to Antalya took place under a convention between Ukraine and Turkey on the accommodation of refugees in hotels and hostels.
During their stay in Maramures County, the Ukrainian children and their 32 companions were accommodated at the Sport Hotel in Baia Mare, in the building of the School Camps and at the dormitory of the Nord-Baia Mare University.
The Maramures General Directorate for Social Assistance and Child Protection was in charge of the logistics for accommodation and shuttle to the airport.
