The training ground near the Tulcea town of Babadag is hosting military exercises with live ammunition starting Monday, and county authorities are recommending drivers to avoid the Enisala-Salcioara section, part of county road 222.
According to an announcement by the Tulcea County Council made public on its website, live ammunition firings will take place every working day of the week, between 9:00 and 24:00, and will be carried out without interruption for 60 minutes with 15-minute breaks in between to decongest road traffic.
"Traffic on DJ 222, between the locality of Enisala and the locality of Salcioara, will be restricted by placing two barriers. (...) To resolve emergency situations, it is mandatory to contact the Babadag Secondary Combat Training Center, at the telephone number 0240/562805," the quoted source mentions, citing an address from the Ministry of National Defense.
To avoid any incidents, the authorities recommend that drivers who want to reach the respective localities use the alternative traffic route that includes the city of Babadag, otherwise, the military unit subordinate to the ministry will not assume responsibility in the event of any incident.
