Transelectrica joins TSCNET Services as 15th shareholder

Romania's national power grid operator Translectrica anounces its affiliation as a shareholder of TSCNET Services, with its headquarters in Munchen, one of the Regional Security Coordinators (RSC) for the European network of energy transportation. 

According to a press release sent by the company to AGERPRES on Monday, the Romanian operator and transport system is the 15th shareholder of TSCNET. 

"As shareholder, Transelectrica can now get actively involved in further developing TSCNET Services, as one of the largest Regional Security Coordinators in Europe. This stage is part of the natural and necessary evolution of the Romanian energy sector on the European energy map, in the context of the implementation of the new model of the electricity internal market, of the European network codes and from the perspective of the Clean Energy Package," declared the CEO of Transelectrica, Constantin Rusu. 

Through Romania's affiliation, TSCNET will offer network security services to the network operators in 12 European countries. 

"Given that the network in Romania is already an integral part of the European transport network, Transelectrica has an important role in the further development of the security of supply in South-Eastern Europe," said Maik Neubauer, the managing director of TSCNET Services. 

CNTEE Transelectrica's affiliation to the Security Coordination Center from the CORE region, TSCNET Services, was approved by the CNTEE Transelectrica Shareholders' General Assembly, at the meeting of 5 June 2018. 

The electricity transport network in Romania has approximately 9,000 kilometers of wires and is connected to the high-tension transport networks from the neighboring countries: Bulgaria, Serbia, Ukraine and Hungary. 

TSCNET Services is one of the main Regional Security Coordinators (RSC) in Europe. With its headquarters in Munchen, the company supplies integrated services for transport and system operators (OTS) and to their command centers in order to permanently maintain the security in the electricity system's functioning. 

The TSCNET's shareholders are 15 OTS from 12 European countries: 50Hertz (Germany), Amprion (Germany), APG (Austria), EEPS (the Czech Republic), ELES (Slovenia), Energinet (Denmark), HOPS (Croatia), MAVIR (Hungary), PSE (Poland), SEPS (Slovakia), Swissgrid (Switzerland), TenneT (Germany), TenneT (the Netherlands), TransnetBW (Germany) and Transelectrica (Romania).
