Senate President Mircea Abrudean welcomed on Friday Romania's receipt of the penultimate favourable opinion, the 24th, in its bid to join the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
"Romania has obtained the penultimate favourable opinion for the accession to the OECD. The country has received the formal opinion of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Investment Committee, a clear sign of the Organisation's confidence that Romania is making important steps in aligning its legislation and policies in the area of investment and responsible business conduct, and sending a strong signal to international investors and our business partners that they can trust us," Abrudean wrote on his Facebook page on Friday.
He added that, in practical terms, obtaining the opinion from the Investment Committee represents a landmark moment in the accession process, reflecting alignment with complex standards that directly influence the stability and performance of the entire economy.
"Congratulations to all those who worked to obtain this opinion, from all the institutions involved in the assessment process," he conveyed.
