President of the Romanian Senate Alina Gorghiu said on Friday, after meeting President of Moldova Maia Sandu, that they had a broad discussion on energy security, as well as on the political and economic aid that Romania will grant to Moldova to join the European Union.
"The meeting with Mrs President Maia Sandu was an extremely good one; as usual, I want to thank her for choosing Romania as the first country to visit after Moldova was granted the status of a candidate for EU accession. It was a broad discussion related to energy security, related to this most important bilateral project, namely that of helping Moldova join the European Union, both the political and technical support the Romanian Parliament will be providing," said Gorghiu at the Parliament House.
She added that she invited Sandu to be part of the delegation of Moldova at the next joint session of the parliaments of Romania and Moldova, which will take place in Bucharest.
"I invited her to be part of the delegation of Moldova at the next joint session of parliaments, which will take place here. In June, it took place in Moldova, and I am convinced that a joint session will materialise very soon in Romania after we discuss the agenda, schedule and so on," concluded Gorghiu.
