Romanian rider Emanuel Gyenes (KTM) placed 40th in the motorcycling category at this year's edition of the Dakar Raid Rally, which ended in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) on Friday, Agerpres reports.
On his 12th participation in the traditional race, the Satu Mare rider finished, after many technical problems, at 08 h 19 min 41 sec by the winner, the British Sam Sunderland.
In the last round, the 12th, held on Friday between Bisha and Jeddah, Gyenes placed 43rd, being recorded on the 164 km with a time of 02 h 03 min 24 sec, 23 min 24 sec from the winner, Chilean Pablo Quintanilla.
In the Malle Moto (Original by Motul) class, without technical assistance, Gyenes finished the stage on four, and overall he was fifth.
Gyenes' best finish at the Dakar Rally, in the overall standings, was in 2016 (14th place), two other performances being two victories in the Marathon class (2011, 2015) and another at Malle Moto in 2020. In 2021, Gyenes (KTM) took 23rd place overall and was 2nd at Malle Moto.
