President Iohannis says he wants more consistency, vision and strategy from EU

President Klaus Iohannis said on Thursday that he wants more consistency, vision and strategy from the European Union. 

"I am pleased to see that the citizens of Romania strongly believe in the European project. As President, I must state in all honesty that my expectations of the EU refer to the functioning of the European mechanisms, I want more consistency, vision and strategy from the EU," the head of the state told the meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Romania. 

Iohannis added that the European project is not a "a mere slogan," and the EU is not a set of "bureaucratic mechanisms."
