The Romanian Police has conducted, in the past two weeks, over 200 searches to destructure organized crime groups, seizing or placing liens on drugs, money, IT equipment and other goods coming from criminal activity.
According to a release of the Romanian Police General Inspectorate (IGPR), on Tuesday, STIRIPESURSE.RO, in the December 6-20 period, 443 police officers specialized in fighting organized crime have acted to destructure organized crime groups specialized in human trafficking, online crime, drug trafficking, and money laundering.
Police officers have organized 37 operative actions, during which 201 searches were conducted. During these actions, investigative activities were conducted to prove the criminal activity of 291 persons, of which 50 were detained or arrested, and one person was placed under judiciary control.
Police officers seized 7,862 grams of cannabis, 40 seeds, as well as 133 pots containing cannabis plants, 6,200 grams cannabis buds, 9 doses of heroin, 22,703 vegetable mass, 90 envelopes of vegetable mass, 23 pills, as well as a shisha, 7 scales and 26 grinders.
Furthermore, preventive measures were placed on 11 cars, 7 laptops, 9 computers, one video camera, 3 tablets, 107 mobile phones, 38 SIM cards, and one hard drive.
The seizures also targeted 3 weapons, 279 rounds, 3 edged weapons, 60 kgs of coffee, 150,317 contraband cigarettes, 42 bottles of whisky, 518 boxes of fireworks, 4 bank cards, as well as 358,798 RON, 29,110 EUR, 1,140 USD, 2,545 GBP and 20 CHF.
