The reform and transparency in public administration, the completion of transport infrastructure projects, the development of the medium and long-term economic vision and putting an end to resource squandering are the major topics the Government will focus on, Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos says.
The PM mentioned in a Facebook post on Friday the Government's priorities for 2016, showing that he plans to leave behind "something visibly changed for the better."
"The major topics we shall focus on during our term refer to areas where we plan to leave behind something changed for the better, even if we'll be able to only initiate certain projects: the reform transparency in public administration, the completion of transport infrastructure projects with a highlight on the process transparency and quality, the development of the medium and long-term economic vision and doing away with squandering, by rethinking the role of the state in economy, social policies and combating poverty. Of course that areas such as healthcare, education, culture, European funds absorption, agriculture, youth and sports, environment, energy and the improvement of Romania's foreign relations will also be dealt with on a priority basis," Ciolos showed.
According to him, "the success and mostly the perpetuation of these changes depend, indeed, on the political class' performance and honesty." "But they also depend on the active involvement of the society, the transcendence of individualism, fears and division that rules more or less visibly in our society," he added.
He pointed out that the time is short for what the Government planned to achieve. "That is why, starting yesterday [Thursday], I have begun to pay visits to ministries to discuss and initiate these changes' putting into practice," the PM also said. AGERPRES
