The Government is meeting its commitments to taking measures that lead to an increase in Romanians' incomes, a fact confirmed by official data, Prime Minister Viorica Dancila said on Friday.

According to data recently published by the National Institute of Statistics, in September the gross nominal average wage increased to almost 1,000 euro and reached the level of 4.482 lei The increase in the net average salary in September 2018 compared to the same period last year exceeded 13.1pct. Romanians' purchasing power in September compared to the same period of last year increased by almost 8pct, namely 7.7pct," Viorica Dancila said at the opening of the Government sitting.
The prime minister underscored the importance of "these indicators rising from month to month".
"In September 2018, as compared to August this year, gross average wages and net wages increased by 0.7pct, and the purchasing power also increased slightly, namely by 0.2pct," said Dancila.
