Activities from the manufacturing and mining and quarrying industries have had a 13.7 percent contribution to the industry's turnover, in the first trimester of the year, as compared to the same interval of 2017, according to the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS), published on Friday.
According to the statistics, January 2018 to March 2018 the activity from the manufacturing industry recorded a leap of 14 pct, while the mining and quarrying industry rose by 3.5 as opposed to the first three months of the previous year.
By large industrial groups, turnover increases were recorded in the following sectors: the capital goods industry (+17.6pct), the intermediary goods industry (+12.9pct), the energy industry (+17.5pct), the durable goods industry (+7pct) and the current goods industry (+7.8pct).
In March 2018, as compared to February 2018, industry businesses gained 14.4 pct as a result of the positive results in the manufacturing industry (+14.4 pct) and the mining and quarrying industry (+13.3 pct). At the same same, based on the large industrial groups, turnover increases were recorded in sectors such as: the energy industry (+20.2 pct), the current goods industry (+17.2 pct), the durable goods industry (+13.7 pct), the intermediary goods industry and capital goods sector (+12.9 pct each).
The growth in the industry's turnover was recorded in March, this year, as compared to the same interval of 2017. Thus, the growth was overall 9.3 pct, due to activities in the mining and quarrying industry (+18.4 pct) and the manufacturing industry (+9 pct). Also, within this margin, businesses in the energy sector rose by 33.6 pct, the capital goods industry by 14 pct, the current goods industry and durable goods industry by 4.6 pct each, and the intermediary goods industry by 2.5 pct.
