Romania's tennis player Simona Halep qualified to the quarterfinals of the WTA USD 2.28 million tournament in Wuhan (China), after defeating on Wednesday Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan in two symmetrical sets 6-3 6-3, in a match of the eighths.
Halep (25 y/o), 4th seed in this competition, the WTA Premier 5 category has imposed in 1 hour 15 minutes, and secured a USD 54,230 cheque and 190 WTA points.
