The Prefect's Institution informs that, between September 1 and 30, live-fire firing exercises will be held at the Smârdan Combat Training Center's range.
"Following the address sent by the Galati Garrison, the Prefect's Institution - Galati County informs citizens that, during the period 01-30 September 2025, military exercises and firing will be carried out in the 'Smardan' Secondary Combat Training Center Polygon, according to the following schedule: 01.09-07.09, daily, between 08:00 - 22:00; 08.09 - 12.09, daily, between 08:00 - 20:00; 15.09 -18.09, daily, between 08:00 - 18:00; 24.09 - 30.09, daily, between 08:00 - 20:00", it is stated in a press release sent on Monday by the Galati Prefecture.
The cited source specifies that it is mandatory to respect the meaning of the signs/panels indicating "No Passing - Shooting Range"; the barrier and the red light/flag installed on the pole in the shooting range area, which signals "Stop! Shooting!".
The Prefect's Institution also adds that the shooting schedule may be subject to changes depending on the availability of participating units, weather conditions or the dynamics of activities.
These exercises are part of the activities planned by the Ministry of National Defense, and the population is asked not to panic and to respect the imposed safety measures.
