The Ministry of Finance on Thursday lists on the Bucharest Stock Exchange the first edition of Fidelis government bonds this year.
According to a press release of the Ministry sent to AGERPRES on Thursday, subscriptions made between January 16 and 23, worth a total of 1.87 billion lei, are now available for trading.
"The first edition of Fidelis bonds this year reconfirms citizens' constant interest in safe saving instruments. We are glad that the programme supports both the responsible development of personal savings and also social engagement, through the tranche dedicated to donators. Today's listing with the BVB offers full flexibility to those who chose to invest in their future and Romania's," Alexandru Nazare, the Minister of Finance, said in a press release.
As total of 18,440 subscription orders were placed during the seven-day offer, with total investments worth 697.2 M lei and 229.96 million euro (the equivalent of 1.17 billion lei).
The special tranche dedicated to blood donors recorded significant participation. With an interest of 7.45% per year, this issue attracted 103.8 million lei via 2,501 subscription orders. These investors also benefited from the reduction of the minimum subscription threshold from 5,000 down to just 500 lei.
Moreover, a significant demand was also recorded for the two-year maturity in lei (6.45% interest), with subscriptions of 309 million lei, as well as the six-year maturity (7.50% interest), which attracted 188 million lei. Issues in euro also attracted significant interest, especially the 10-year maturity (6.30% interest), with 151.6 million euros in subscriptions. The three-year and five-year maturities attracted 40.6 million euros, and 37.70 million euros respectively.
Since the launch of the Fidelis programme, total investments attracted amounted to more than 63.97 billion lei, through 524,099 subscriptions. The donors-investors contribution exceeded 4 billion lei since the launch of the partnership with Rock FM radio station.
