Energy Minister Victor Grigorescu on Wednesday announced that the Government has found a solution for efficient acquisition of natural gas to avoid people suffering this winter.
He added that the government set up a mechanism under an emergency ordinance that allows local administrations to pay for the gas directly to suppliers.
"What this mechanism enables is for local administrations to pay in advance for the fuel directly to suppliers. (...) We are talking about advance payments on the natural gas needed for this winter. We are talking about allocating resources where they are needed, directly for the household consumption estimated for this winter," Grigorescu told journalists at a news briefing at the Government House.
