Bucharest City's unemployment rate was 1.16 percent at the end of October, down from 1.18 percent in the previous month, as 14,272 jobless of whom 7,571 women were registered with the Bucharest Municipal Employment Agency (AMOFM), agerpres reports.
Out of the total of 14,272 unemployed, 2,639 were collecting unemployment benefit, and 11,633 were not. All the unemployed in the AMOFM Bucharest records come from urban areas, AMOFM said in a release.
Most unemployed were in the 40 - 49 age bracket (3,901); there were 3,228 jobless in the 30 - 39 age bracket; 3,161 in the 50 - 55 age bracket and 2,376 aged 50-plus. Unemployment was the lowest in the under-25 age category (286).
The unemployed with high school education account for the highest share of the total number of jobless in AMOFM Bucharest records (36.23 pct), followed by those with higher education (23.92 pct), medium school graduates (17.82 pct), and vocational school graduates (17.80 pct).
The unemployed with completed post-secondary education account for 1.15 pct of the total registered unemployed, and those with primary education or with no studies - for 1.15 pct.
By employability determined by profiling, 2,027 people are very difficult to employ, 4,493 are difficult to employ, 4,171 are moderately difficult to employ, and 3,581 are easily employable.
The classification in an employability category is the result of the profiling of the persons entered in the AMOFM Bucharest records.
