The National Bank of Romania (BNR) is launching a silver coin with a nominal value of ten lei in the numismatic circuit on Monday, with the theme 'Mihail Oromolu - 150 years since birth'.
According to a press release from the National Bank of Romania, the obverse of the coin features an image of the Oromolu Manor in Păuşeşti-Măglaşi, Vâlcea County, the inscription "ROMANIA" in an arc, the nominal value "10 LEI", the year of issue "2025" and the coat of arms of Romania.
The reverse of the coin shows the portrait and name of Mihail Oromolu, governor of the National Bank of Romania between 1922 - 1926 and the years he lived between "1875" and "1945".
The silver coins are packaged in transparent methacrylate capsules and are accompanied by presentation brochures and certificates of authenticity, written in Romanian, English and French. The certificates of authenticity bear the signatures of the Governor of the National Bank of Romania and the Central Cashier.
The maximum mintage for the silver coin is 5,000 pieces.
The selling price for the silver coin is 640 lei, excluding VAT, including the presentation brochure and certificate of authenticity.
The silver coins with the theme Mihail Oromolu - 150 years since birth have circulation power on the territory of Romania.
The launch of these coins into the numismatic circuit is carried out through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj, Constanta, Dolj, Iasi and Timis.
