A blood donation event as part of the "We share the same blood" campaign is taking place on Friday at the Ministry of Health, Minister Alexandru Rogobete announced.
"The Ministry of Health (...) today also becomes a space where people choose to get personally and directly involved for patients. The hall where important decisions for Romanians' health are usually made is today transformed into a place for a simple but essential gesture: blood donation, as part of the 'We share the same blood' campaign. It is more than a symbolic action. It is a form of commitment carried through to the end. People who, beyond roles, positions or administrative responsibilities, choose to be part of the response, not just the organisation," Alexandru Rogobete wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, over 6,000 people have already donated as part of this campaign.
"This is clear proof that true solidarity does not remain at the level of a message, but is transformed into concrete, repeated actions that can save lives. I thank everyone who, day by day, thinks of the wellbeing of those in suffering and joins their efforts to this cause. I thank the teams at the blood transfusion centres for their professionalism and for making it possible for these actions to take place safely. I also thank my colleagues at the ministry, the Ambulance service and the Public Health Directorates for spreading the message about the importance of blood donation and turning it into real mobilisation," the Health minister underscored.
