A number of seven counties, namely Constanta, Tulcea, Calarasi, Ialomita, Braila, Buzau and Vrancea will be placed under Code Orange starting 22:00 hrs, due to blizzard and glazed frost, Director General of the National Weather Administration (ANM) Elena Mateescu announced in a video-conference on managing the weather effects at the Ministry of Interior Affairs (MAI).
"The two Orange Codes are targeting two different intervals. In the first place, the first Code Orange starts at 20:00 hrs, this evening [Tuesday - e.n.] and lasts until tomorrow morning 08:00 hrs, consisting of blizzard and glazed frost conditions in Constanta and Tulcea, with gusts of wind of 70 - 80 kilometers per hour, snowfalls that will be heavily scattered by the blizzard, but also mixed precipitations that will facilitate the formation of glazed frost. The second Code Orange, is valid between the 23:00 hrs and ends tomorrow at 15:00 hrs, with blizzard in Calarasi, Ialomita, Braila, Buzau and Vrancea counties, the wind speed reaching 70 - 80 kilometers per hour, spreading the snow and reducing visibility below 50 meters," Mateescu stated, acording agerpres
The National Weather Administration issued on Tuesday new Code Yellow and Code Orange advisories for blizzard and snowfall.
