The number of companies that suspended their activity in January 2022 was 1,279, up 20.32% compared to the first month of 2021, according to data published by the National Office of the Trade Register (ONRC), Agerpres reports.
Most companies that suspended their activity in 2021 were from Bucharest, respectively 96 (decreasing by 16.52% compared to January 2021), the capital city being followed by Neamt, with 59 suspended companies (increasing by 37, 21%), Iasi - 57 companies (+35.71%), Brasov - 56 (+40%) and Cluj - 56 (+33.33%).
On the other hand, the lowest suspensions were recorded in Tulcea - 5 (up 25% compared to January 2021), Covasna - 7 (-30%) and Caras-Severin - 8 (-27.27%).
By areas of activity, the highest number of suspensions was registered last year in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, respectively 392 (+20.25%), other service activities - 130 suspensions (+8.33%) and in professional, scientific and technical activities - 121 suspensions (+55.13%).
